go OILLLLLL... *whispergoduckstoowhisper*

Yesterday, at 9pm I went out to join in the revelry on Whyte. I'm surprised my dad let me go... I guess he didn't know where I was going. eek

Met up w/ Jim, Brendan and Doris. Good times.. just walked along Whyte, cheering, highfiving and talking. Stopped at O'Byrnes for a drink.. words were exchanged.

Kept walking, went to death by chocolate for some ice cream.. saw some people I haven't seen in a long time. Good times.

Saw Amy Bi!!! Oh I haven't seen her in the longest time.. my old volleyball buddy. Saw Melisshah as well.. I didn't see her coming and was a little taken aback by a random stranger hugging me.. that weirdo.. good old VB days man.. Sometimes, I wish I could just go back to see everyone again with the huge Kill circle in the back refusing to eat in the "caf." Ahh.. frick those were the times.

Seeing so many of my friends yesternight made me feel very.. nostalgic and .. I dunno, thankful I guess that I managed to survive elementary school (very long and sad story) and make the best friends ever that I will never forget. awww.. *tearofhappy* yea fob talk...

GO OIL.. I was very much saddened to hear ppl attack Selanne w/ the oh-so-clever chant "F*ck you, Teemu." But yes, GO OIL GO.

Oh and btw, I'm a huge pansy..

Steel and BBQ

So I started work last Monday at Supreme Steel in the WEST END.. very FAR from my home.

The first two weeks are orientation. Summary of what went on this last week at work:

1) There are two other Engineering students right now working in the same area. One of them is from my classes. The other is a first year student with whom I went to the same junior high school. He also played the tenor saxophone, and that's pretty much why I remember him. Both of them will be leaving at the end of this week to different yards belonging to Supreme Steel. I will be all alone...

2) Seems like everyday, the other Civil student and I are taken by our supervisor to some site visit. I'm not sure why... he must like to drive or something.

3) We (Civil student and I) have been going through introductory training computer programs that pretty much teach us everything there is to know about steel. There is a LOT of information for a couple weeks of orientation. There's also a book our supervisor wants us to go through... it's so freaking long... But I am learning steel things.. so I guess that's good.

4) I had to draw this pallet jack/fork lift thing using CAD and I haven't touched this program since CIV E 265. Took me awhile to draw my thing seeing how I have no idea how it's used haha.. and the other engineer around couldn't even tell me what it was called.. they had never seen it before. Great... and I also have to calculate the capacity of the thing... Fantastic..

Onto happier things:

Will's BBQ!!

So Will was there on time with his dad. My dad gave me a ride there w/ my hotdog buns, weiners and mini cupcakes. (All purchased.) It was raining lightly.

The entire story is pretty much on my MSN space w/ pictures to tell the whole story. Yea I'm feeling lazy but here's a summary:

1) Good thing we toughed it out as the rain eventually went away... and in the end, it came back... but it was time to leave by then so it was okay.

2) Will was PREPARED. He brought everything you would ever need for a BBQ, except maybe umbrellas haha... we crowded around the BBQ under my one umbrellas for the beginning and man did our crotches get a little toasty.. we took turns holding the umbrella.

3) Fun was had once the rain disappeared. Had a little water fight.. kind of unfair as the girls had no water guns as the guys had taken them all and most of the balloons too. Passed the volleyball around for a bit, played frisbee and I even got the kite into the air even though the wind was kinda weak... so much fun.. haven't flown a kite in so long.

4) Had a second fire going once Ellis arrived. That was some crazy fire. So toasty.. helped dry the clothes off from both the rain and water fight.

All in all it was a great night.. so much fun. (Thanks Will!!)

I'm pretty tired.. I keep staying up late to do random things.. like chat on MSN.. watch random TV shows or play solitaire showdown. Bad me.. very bad.. I have no control.

Ok.. reading time. YAY STEEL!
